Description
English: A building dedication ceremony for the First Baptist Church of Deanwood located at 1008 45th Street, NE in Washington, D.C. The congregation quickly outgrew their sanctuary. Construction of their second building began in 1929 and lasted nine years. It was designed by Roscoe I. Vaughn in a modified Gothic style. A larger, adjoining sanctuary was built in 1962. In July of 2008, the First Baptist Church of Deanwood was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
