Description
English: Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, or "Turkish Language Divan" of 1074 is possibly the oldest book on Turkish language; a very comprehensive work, it contains lexicon, poems and encyclopedical information, even maps. Its writer, Mahmud of Kashgar recites: "Give milk to those that deny you water. The good man's bones will disappear but his name perdures." Wall of a cultural centre in Polatlı, Ankara, Turkey.
