English: Fishergate Tower, York Fishergate Tower on the York city walls, built in around 1505 on the site of an earlier structure called Talkan Tower. On the left of the picture is the Postern Gate Travelodge, which was built quite a lot later. The Fishergate Tower controlled access through Fishergate Postern, a small archway which once had a portcullis in the wall just south of the tower. |
