日本語: 蘇澳漁港。港灣に乏しい臺灣東岸に於て，唯一の漁港である。臺北より基隆に至る鐵道は，八猪より宜蘭線を分派して蘇澳はその終端線に當つてる。花蓮港，臺東への定期航路も此所を起點とする。蘇澳は東方に面する蘇澳考を隔て南方澳，北方澳の二漁村がある，北方澳は古くより本島人漁業者部落があるが平坦地狹小で發展の餘地がない。此所に於て港口に近き南方澳の濕地を開き，大正十二年工費六十五萬除圓を投じて，紐の如き丁字形の漁港を設けた。汽車はまだこの岸壁に達しないが。自動車を以て聯絡し魚市場、氷庫、石油タンク等の設備も整つて居る。水面積二萬三千坪水深約二米乃至三米あり，周年多數漁船の集る處となる。同市場の最近一年の水揚高六十萬圓に及んでる。漁業者數は内地人四百五十人，本島人六百餘人，發動機船六十八隻，和船其他二百隻，主なる漁業は旗魚（カジキ）、鮪、鱶、鰺（アジ）、鯖（サバ）、珊瑚等で。（平坂恭介，臺北帝國大學理農學部教授，理學博士）
