| Description |
English: Fishy bike racks, Whitehaven. These are near on the promenade near Marlborough Street. Whitehaven is trying hard to rejuvenate itself, following the closure of the coal mines, by promoting tourism. The C2C cycling route starts here, so the bike racks are perhaps appropriate, although I don't recall ever seeing one in use. There are also tiny metal fish set into the stone setts (little white glints on the photo). |
