| Description |
English: Fissures, Beinn Bhreac.. Taken from the summit of Beinn Bhreac a striking landslip fissure from the post glacial failure of the east face of Beinn Bhreac. Lubricated by meltwater and oversteepened by the Lomond glacier carting away material, the slope could no longer support itself. Large areas of the hill fell away, but some stayed, but fractured now. Gullies, sinkholes and piles of debris can be found along many kilometres of this hill. A landslip like this was responsible for creating the outline of The Cobbler 11251. Tarbet Bay on Loch Lomond below. |
