English: Five Ways (Birmingham) station, 1993. View NE to the Down platform from an Up train: ex-Midland Birmingham - Bristol main line (Birmingham West Suburban line). This almost subterranean station was closed 2/10/44, but was restored 8/5/78 for the Cross-City services, electrified in 1993. (When I knew it in Steam Days, it was always drowned in filthy smoke). |
