Summary

Description
English: Highly stylized diagram of the Fizeau experiment. A beam of light is split by a beam splitter, and the split beams are passed in opposite directions through a tube of flowing water. They are recombined to form interference fringes that an observer can view. Dragging of the light by the flowing water causes displacement of the fringes.
