English: Sheffield Park Station, 1975. View southward, towards Lewes until 1958, but since 1960 the southern end of the heritage Bluebell Railway. Ex-LB&SCR (London) - Oxted - East Grinstead - Lewes - (Brighton) line, closed to passengers 13/6/55, but temporarily reopened 7/8/56 - 17/3/58, closed to goods to Culver Junction, Lewes from 5/3/62. The Bluebell Railway Society reopened Sheffield Park - Horsted Keynes from 31/7/60, to Kingscote in 1994 and East Grinstead in 3/13. In this 1975 scene, a train to Horsted Keynes is waiting to leave, with ex-SE&C class C 0-6-0 No. 592. |
