עברית: התמונה צולמה על ידי זולטן קלוגר (1977-1896), צלם ישראלי הונגרי שפעל ותיעד את החיים בארץ ישראל. היא צולמה ב-4/10/1948 ומצולמים בה חברי חטיבה 8 עם מקלע MG34, נשק מתוצרת גרמנית.

חטיבה 8 הייתה חטיבת השריון הראשונה בצה"ל והיא הוקמה ב-24 למאי 1948, תחת פיקודו של יצחק שדה. בתחילתה החטיבה כללה שני גדודים, גדוד 81 וגדוד 82 המשוריין, גדוד זה היה גדוד הטנקים היחיד בצה"ל באותה העת. חטיבה 8 לקחה חלק במבצע 'דני', שהיה המבצע העיקרי בקרבות עשרת הימים במלחמת העצמאות, וזו הייתה הפעם הראשונה שהופעלו טנקים של צה"ל בקרב. התמונה צולמה ב- 4/10/1948, כנראה בזמן ההכנות למבצע 'יואב', בו השתתפה החטיבה בין ה-15 ל-22 באוקטובר.
