| Description |
November 16, 2011 IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, conducted an unannounced inspection on Wednesday evening at the IAF's Ramon Airbase. During the visit, Lt. Gen. Gantz checked the preparedness and alertness of fighter pilots at the base. As part of the exercise, pilots were called to their jets for takeoff. Only just before takeoff were they informed that it was a drill and not a real-life incident. Lt. Gen. Gantz expressed satisfaction with the level of readiness and preparedness of the pilots and air crews operating at the base. Photo by the IDF Spokesperson Unit.
