PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 22, 2012) Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Patrick Wheeler acts as safety observer during a MK-38 25mm machine gun live-fire exercise on the port bridge wing aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Rushmore is part of the Peleliu Amphibious Group underway for a western Pacific deployment with the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) and the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20).
