MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 27, 2012) An MV-22B Osprey from Marine Medium Tiltrotor squadron (VMM) 261 (Reinforced) takes off during flight quarters aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Iwo Jima, the flagship of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with embarked elements of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU), is deployed to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
