DescriptionFlickr - Official U.S. Navy Imagery - SH-60B helicopter responds to pirate attempt aboard Philippine-flagged merchant vessel..jpg | ARABIAN SEA (March 25, 2011) An SH-60B Sea Hawk helicopters from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 48 embarked aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) and a rigid-hull inflatable boat from Leyte Gulf monitor the Philippine-flagged merchant vessel M/V Falcon Trader II, which had sent out a distress call reporting it had been boarded by pirates Friday, March 25, 2011. Helicopters from the Leyte Gulf and USS Enterprise (CVN 65) responded to the call and were able to disrupt the attack. Leyte Gulf and Enterprise are supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and regional maritime security operations as part of their deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
