Frank Ponds, center, commander of Navy Region Hawaii, Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, greets surviving members of the Tuskegee Airmen at a ceremony in remembrance of the maritime accident West Loch Disaster during World War II at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The West Loch Disaster was a 1944 incident that resulted in the sinking of several small ships, more than 100 fatalities and more than 400 injured personnel.
