BAHRAIN (June 23 2012) Tugboats pull the mine counter measure ship USS Pioneer (MCM 9) off the Military Sealift Command chartered M/V Tern, a float-on/float-off transport ship. Pioneer and three other MCM ships arrived in Bahrain the same day. Pioneer is assigned to Commander, Task Force 52, supporting mine countermeasure operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
