Casey Jr., Army Chief of Staff, presented her with her husband's posthumous Soldier's Medal during an award and memorial stone unveiling ceremony at Fort Hood, Texas Friday. Capt. Gaffaney, as well as nine other Soldiers present for the ceremony, was awarded the medal for his actions during the tragic shooting at the installation Nov. 5, 2009. Following medal presentations to 52 awardees, a memorial stone dedicated to the 13 people who lost their lives in the incident. U.S. Army photo by Spc.
