Summary edit

Description

Yaxhá

The second most popular archaeological site in the region, Yaxhá is situated on the shores of the beautiful Yaxhá lagoon.

This structure is being rebuilt by German archaeologists and was the first we saw when we entered the site. Restoration is at a very preliminary stage. Only one temple has been largely restored, while most of the others are either covered in vegetation and trees or being actively worked upon by archaeologists.
