The Wollemi Pine The living fossil Wollemi nobilis “Wollemi Pine” was discovered as recently as 1994, as part of two small stands growing in a deep gorge within the Wollemi National Park, NSW. It was found by David Noble, an Officer of the National Parks and Wildlife Service and is named after him and the park in which it was found. This exciting find just 120 kn north west of Sydney highlights hgow little we know about the plant world and how much more there is to discover. i040707 204 |
