Description

This was I think the very first vehicled owned by J.L.Stephenson, a very attractive Ford 676E with Plaxton bodywork. The registration, cream and black livery and the extra side mouldings shouts out Flights Tours of Birmingham. It was parked close to Stephenson's house in Hullbridge. By this time, the fashion for plasticised head rest covers was on the wain, but they made the interior of this Panorama coach look very smart. The Stephenson fleet is now based in Rochford, and much expanded over 33 years later! The Stephenson's Rocket logo,to the right of the fleet name, seems to have been cast aside since..

There was an intermediate operator who thus also retained the Flights' livery, TA Conroy, trading as Tarpots Coaches of Benfleet, Essex before COM passed to Stephensons.
