At the beginning of May 2023, the Emilia Romagna region in northern Italy was affected by devastating floods, which resulted in two casualties and severe damage to homes, agriculture, and infrastructure.

English: At the beginning of May 2023, the Emilia Romagna region in northern Italy was affected by devastating floods, which resulted in two casualties and severe damage to homes, agriculture, and infrastructure. The extent of the destruction was evident in the satellite image captured on 4 May by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites, which showed the rivers in the affected area carrying massive amounts of brown sediment into the Adriatic Sea. The Rapid Mapping module of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service has produced detailed delineation maps of the flooded areas. All the products are available here.
