Description
English: Folio of Calligraphy by Mir Ali Haravi. An illuminated qita' (poetic fragment); Persian in black nasta'liq script; signed by Mir Ali. This folio is from one of the albums compiled for Shah Jahan (1627-58) and is adorned with superbly rendered illuminations placed between the verses and in the margins. Uzbekistan, probably Bukhara, Shaybanid period, ca. 1530–40. Borders: India, Mughal period, ca. 1630–60. Freer Gallery of Art F1939.50b
