Français : Forçage radiatif des différents facteurs contribuant au changement climatique, tel qu'il est extrait du résumé à l'intention des décideurs du cinquième rapport d'évaluation du GIEC[1] Le forçage radiatif est l'énergie moyenne nette provenant du sommet de l'atmosphère par mètre carré. Lorsque les concentrations de gaz à effet de serre augmentent, l'atmosphère n'est pas en équilibre, et il sort moins d'énergie qu'il n'en entre. Pour les gaz et les aérosols, les valeurs représentent à la fois l'effet qu'ils ont eux-mêmes et l'effet de tout composé chimique en lequel ils sont transformés dans l'atmosphère. Les halogènes ont à la fois un forçage radiatif positif en tant que gaz à effet de serre et un forçage négatif car ils peuvent détruire l'ozone. Les autres gaz ont une durée de vie courte et comprennent le monoxyde de carbone et les NOx. Les aérosols, particules liquides ou solides, bloquent souvent la lumière du soleil, ce qui entraîne un refroidissement. La suie, qui est également considérée comme un aérosol, a un effet de réchauffement en raison de sa capacité à absorber la lumière du soleil et à assombrir les surfaces. Les volcans sont omis, conformément au cinquième rapport d'évaluation du GIEC, car leur forçage radiatif fluctue fortement et est donc difficile à comparer aux autres agents de forçage. |
