English: Place: Pingtung, Taiwan

Most Ford-vehicles in the eighties and nineties were actually rebadged Mazda's which were also offered in Australia. The Festiva is based on the Mazda 121, the Laser is based on the Mazda 323/Familia, the Telstar on the Mazda 626/Capella and the Econovan on the Mazda Bongo.

The main competitor of the Telstar was the Toyota Corona, which could very well be the best selling car of Taiwan at the late eighties, early nineties. Both were offered in sedan and liftback shape.
