DescriptionForefield Rake to Friarfold Rake - geograph.org.uk - 848171.jpg |
English: Forefield Rake to Friarfold Rake These 'rakes' are old surface workings and lines of shafts following the lead veins across the moor. Forefield Rake drops down towards Flincher Gill and continues westwards as Friarfold Rake, the whole area once being part of the Old Gang mines. The summit of Great Shunner Fell peeps over moorland in the distance. |
