| Description |
English: The home plate and batter's box area of the main baseball field of Victory Field within Forest Park, at Myrtle Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard in Woodhaven, Queens. The field was converted into an artificial turf facility during the 2000s renovations to the park. Note that there is a second home plate behind the permanent one. I believe what happened is when they reconstructed the field, they placed home plate too far forward, such that the cage backstop could not contain popped-up balls. I also recall a second set of foul lines lining up with the rear home plate in the past. This is almost exclusively a New York City issue. |
