| Description |
English: As seen in June 2020: the building at 2946 Bailey Avenue (corner Collingwood Avenue, seen here from the west end of Millicent Avenue) in Buffalo, New York served a dual function: the front housed Police Precinct No. 16 until the mid-1990s, when a reorganization of the police department saw the old precinct system done away with; Precinct 16 was superseded by the E District station about a half-dozen blocks south on Bailey. The building was sold to a private developer in 1999 and now houses a day care center. In the rear was Engine No. 23 firehouse, which continued to lease its space in the building from said private developer until 2010, when it moved to a new building further north on Bailey. Architecturally, the building exemplifies the Colonial Revival style albeit with some Arts & Crafts influences, namely the widely overhanging eaves of the roof. |
