English: Former Tramway to Farndale Ironstone Mine Also known as Blakey mine due to its proximity to Blakey Ridge. The mine operated somewhat optimistically for approximately twenty four years at the end of the nineteenth century. The extent of the earthworks necessary to create the level tramway can clearly be seen in the photo although over the intervening years it has suffered a rock fall. The tramway connected to an incline which hauled the ore up to a small branch railway which connected to the Rosedale railway just west of Blakey crossing. The mine comprised a series of drifts into the ironstone seam known as the Dogger seam.
