English: Former cattle enclosure - western wall. The long low receding mound visible in this photograph is part of the western wall of a former cattle enclosure at the end of a drove road; see 1043828.
The enclosure is not quite rectangular, and this western wall runs from SE to NW. The line of the wall runs from the photographer's position and through the base of the tree. The enclosure also has rounded corners, and, about a hundred metres beyond the tree, the wall curves to the right and heads in an easterly direction (the northern wall of the enclosure). The eastern half of that northern wall is very overgrown with ferns, but it is still possible to pace out the top of the mound. Previous: 1101793. Next: 1101802. |
