English: Looking at the reconstruction of the Fort Hamilton High School Athletic Field, at Colonial Road (1st Avenue) and 85th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Built along with the high school and adjacent playground, the field is an unusual example of a DOE high school field that is under Parks Department jurisdiction. The previous 2001 Take The Field design resembled a typical city high school complex, with a red running track and a turf field with base cutouts. The new design, however, more closely resembles a Parks Department facility, with a blue running track similar to that of Victory Field in Forest Park, Queens, and a modern all-turf field similar to those at Joseph Austin Playground in Queens and DeWitt Clinton Park in Manhattan. |
