Description

The fortifications of Mont-Saint-Michel are a defensive structure intended to protect the mountain and its abbey during the Hundred Years War.

The wall consists of curtain walls flanked by semi-circular towers and a bastioned tower:

The Claudine tower, The North Tower, The Tower of Liberty, The tower of the Arcade, The King's Tower, The Buckle Tower (bastioned).

The ramparts and parapets that date back to the XV century are :

The door of the King, The Advance and its door, The Boulevard and its door, the guard Bourgeois (XVI century)
