Description
English: Fisherman's house with grass roof, this is where the buses drop you off and pick you up when yo go to Fortress Louisbourg, cars are not allowed past the visitors centre.

Cod fishing was the major industry in 18th-century Louisbourg. The catch was salted and dried right in the fisherman's home.

In 1731, Louisbourg fishermen exported 167,000 quintals (unit of mass in the metric system equal to 100 kilograms - 221lbs) of cod and 1600 barrels of cod-liver oil.
