Description
Français : François Ier du Saint-Empire et sa collection d'histoire naturelle. François Ier du Saint-Empire est entouré d'objets qui évoquent son intérêt pour les sciences naturelles et les arts : un télescope, une sphère armillaire, des coquillages, une lame de poisson-scie. L'empereur tient une pièce de monnaie et, sur le meuble des monnaies, un violon est posé sur une partition. Créé d'après une oeuvre du peintre de cours Martin van Meytens, cette toile a été peinte après la mort de l'empereur et Zoffany a adapté les aspects décoratifs du modèle baroque tardif dans l'esprit des portraits classiques.
