Description
Deutsch: Hoch oben an der Brandmauer des vorragenden Eckhauses der Kruggasse nach dem Rebstock zu, ist ein von unten schlecht wahrzunehmendes Steinbild eingelassen, das einen Mann darstellt, der im Begriffe ist an einem Rebstock zu hantiren. Der verstorbene Maler Carl Theodor Reiffenstein hält es für wahrscheinlich, dass die Sculptur sich früher am ehemaligen Thor des Hofes zum Rebstock befunden habe und erst später an die Brandmauer versetzt worden sei. Auch erwähnt er der Sage, dass früher an der Stelle des jetzigen Hofes ein Garten gewesen wäre, in dem sich eine Rebe von solcher Stärke befunden, dass ein Mann sie nicht habe umfassen können und von der wohl der Name „Rebstock“ herkomme. Die auf diesem Blatte befindliche Abbildung zeigt das Wahrzeichen, das lange eine irrige Deutung fand, zum ersten Male vollständig und richtig.
