Description
English: Frescoed triclinium wall in the House of the Greek Epigrams from Pompeii by Geremia Discanno (artist) and Vittorio Steeger (lithographer); Commentary by Emil Presuhn (translated from German): "These two wall drawings are in a long room and divide it into an antechamber (II) and a main room (I). There used to be a curtain between the two. Such an arrangement is more common in Pompeii. On plate II, the floor is imitated in the base, in which crushed clay shards were scattered in the limestone of the screed (opus signinura). —On both panels the yellow should be darker and a little redder."
