Description
Svenska: Gamla byggnader, hantverk och odling på Västergötlands museum. Humle (Humulus lupulus) är en slingerväxt som tillhör familjen Cannabaceae. Det äldsta arkeologiska fyndet som visar att humle odlats i Sverige är idag daterat till 900-talet. År 1442-1860 var det i Sverige lagstadgat att odla humle. På 1400-talet var varje bonde tvungen att ha minst 40 humlepålar och i mitten av 1800-talet minst 200 humlepålar. Under denna tid var det även förbjudet att importera humle från andra länder. Humle odlades i speciella humlegårdar och får klättra upp på störar. Det är bara honplantan som har varit av intresse att odla eftersom det i honplantans humlekottar som de önskvärda ämnena för öltillverkning finns.
