Description
The experts at Bruun Rasmussen informed us that Melbye moved to St. Thomas in 1849 and that the view was probaby found there. At the 2005 auction, the title was given as Parti fra Vestindien med huse og palmer ved en sø, i baggrunden bjergtinde (View from the West Indies with houses and palms at a lake, and a mountain peak in the background).
