Dansk: Bjergene i baggrunden er antagelig en del af Geislergruppen (die Geisler Spitzen) i Dolomitterne. Kammerassessor G. Collin (Michael Gottlieb Birckner Collin, 1806-1885) var Fritz Petzholdts svoger, og det er hans håndskrift, der ses bag på lærredet. G. Collin skrev således på bagsiden, når han monterede Petzholdts malerier i ramme. Maleriets malemåde tyder på, at maleriet er udført omkring 1829–30 på rejsen til Italien.
English: The mountains in the background are presumably part of the Geisler group (the Geisler Spitzen) in the Dolomites. Civil servant G. Collin was Petzholdt's brother-in-law, and it is his handwriting on the back of the canvas. G. Collin wrote on the back when he framed Petzholdt's paintings. Based on the painting style, this work seems to have been executed during Petzholdt's trip to Italy around 1829-30.
