English: Frozen Regent's Canal. February 1986 was very cold in London with average temperatures below freezing. The result was the freezing over of the Grand Union canal and its various arms in the London area. The pigeons went ice skating and houseboat owners put on their thermals. The road on the opposite bank is Blomfield Road. See http://www.canaljunction.com/canal/grand_union.htm for information about the Regent's Canal and the Grand Union. Apart from the ice, the view hadn't changed in 2007 - see Nigel Cox's 531118 |
