English: "G-AMWV Douglas C-47B British United Airways LPL 24AUG64

The guy with the surprised look was Harry Andrews, the General Manager of British Eagle (Liverpool) Ltd... my boss of bosses... He was probably surprised because I was standing on the office window-ledge hanging out of the window taking the photo... "Once an #AvGeek..." What can I say!

A brief history without dates... Built in 1945 for the USAAF (United States Army Air Forces) serialled 43-48339 and transferred on delivery to the UK Royal Air Force as KJ816. it was later sold to Silver City Airways as G-AMWV and later merged into BUA British United Airways. Then to EI-APB with Hibernian Airlines and back to G-AMWV with Ulster Air Transport/Air Ulster. Fate unknown.
