Description

Parked on a remote stand at Edinburgh, what used to be the ramp at the old Turnhouse and what is now the cargo terminal. From memory 1982. British Airways opertated a back-up aircraft on all Shuttle flights. When the flight was booked to over capacity of the Trident 3, BA would tow a T1 or T2 to the gate and load up and usually depart before the scheduled T3. It was affectionately known as the 'Irish Back-up' since it left before the main flight. Not exactly 'PC' but it was the early 80's.
