Chief Storekeeper (SKC) Bang Won Lee, Republic of Korea Navy (right)

Receives the "lowdown" on American customs from Chief Boatswain's Mate Henderson F. Lindsey, on board USNS Marine Phoenix (T-AP-195) as the transport nears Seattle, Washington. SKC Lee is one of 27 officers and 147 enlisted men of the ROK Navy sent to the U.S. to man four ships transferred to Korea. Note Chief Lee's Kodak camera. Photograph is dated 18 January 1952.
