Description
English: Grand Army of the Republic plot at Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. This plot contains the graves of about 30 veterans of the Union Army who fought in the American Civil War. A veterans group, the Grand Army of the Republic, erected the memorial obelisk in 1909. The plot contains the grave of Medal of Honor recipient Thomas Mitchell, as well as those of several African Americans who served in the U.S. Colored Infantry and U.S. Colored Heavy Artillery.
