Night sky (stars and the Milky Way), Clinton County, within Sproul State Forest.
The remote, high-elevation, heavily forested Allegheny Plateau region of north-central Pennsylvania offers a superb dark-sky experience. Cherry Springs State Park, in Potter County, is among the few International Dark-Sky Parks in eastern North America.
This location here, at the Two Rock Run Vista along PA Route 144, shows only a minor light-pollution dome from the area around Snow Shoe, a small town 20 miles to the south.
Taken with a point-and-shoot at a high ISO setting, the photo shows some noise and other chromatic aberrations.
