English: Galashiels Town Centre Redevelopment. An update on the photo taken on 23/09/06 247765 showing the ASDA superstore on the left and the TESCO superstore on the right, both completed. The former Lochcarron of Scotland mill building has been demolished and new retail units beyond the ASDA store are nearing completion. The Galashiels Inner Relief Road Scheme 2, the link from Albert Place to Huddersfield Street to the centre left of the photo, is expected to start soon. See the photo taken on 18/05/06 247751 to appreciate the visual impact that two large superstores have in the centre of a traditional Borders town. |
