Bust de bronz, ridicat pe un soclu de granit, în mijlocul parcului municipal, în 1893 de un comitet de gălăţeni, în frunte cu V. A. Urechia, drept recunoştinţă marelui om de stat şi orator, pentru că a apărat cu toată puterea talentului său la 1881, interesele comerciale ale ţării la Dunăre, în parlament şi presă, după desfiinţarea porto-francului. În mijlocul mulţimii este prezent şi V. A. Urechia
