Description
Deutsch: Dichteverteilung in der galaktischen Ebene nach dem Modell von McMillan, Mass models of the Milky Way, in: Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society Band 414, S.2446 ff, 2011.

Für die Scheibe wird sowohl parallel als auch senkrecht zur Äquatorebene eine mit zunehmendem Abstand vom Zentrum exponentiell abfallende Dichte angenommen. Der Skalenradius (in der Ebene) wird mit 3000 Parsec, die Skalenhöhe (senkrecht dazu) mit 300 Parsec angesetzt. Im Falle der Linse wird davon ausgegangen, dass nahe dem Zentrum die Dichte gemäß einem Potenzgesetz nach außen hin abnimmt, mit einem Skalenradius von 75 Parsec. Jenseits von etwa 1000 Parsec wird angenommen, dass die Dichte überwiegend exponentiell abfällt, mit einem Skalenradius von 2100 Parsec.

Für den dunklen Halo wird eine gemäß einem Potenzgesetz nach außen hin abnehmende Dichte mit einem Skalenradius von 20200 Parsec angesetzt.
