| Description |
English: Gallows Gate A gate and pair of posts at a picnic site ona hilltop overlooking Torquay (alas, the picnic tables don't actually have this view). The gate is a sort of tribute to the legend of Gallows Gate; a nearby plaque explains that a thief was "hung" on a gate by the rope he used to carry the sheep he had stolen, when he fell one way and the sheep the other. This gate doesn't really look high enough. |
