Description
English: This is Gangilonga Stone mostly knows as 'Jiwe Gangi' by many people of Iringa region. This is a very huge stone found at Gangilonga area few kilometres from Iringa town. It is historical name since it is been suggested that its originates from Hehe language 'Liganga lilonga' which means that a Stone is talking. This say dates back to early years during Hehe resistance to colonial invasion. Hehe soldiers heard echoes upon they talk towards this stone. So they said that stone is talking. A stone is very imporatant source for tourism and is highly protected, to make it last longer for future generetion to see the nice feature which a region have. Many people travel to Iringa to see this stone from the country and outside the country.
