  • There are no copyright marks or statements on either side of this card as seen at photo links.
  • It was created for distribution to the show's viewers; copies were distributed in response to fan letters, photo requests, etc. The image was meant to attract attention and publicity for the show. The aim of this image was exactly the same as the publicity shots/stills done in the film industry.
  • The item can be dated by a timeline of the show and the television station it was broadcast on.
February 1953 (CBS's purchase of WBKB and its changing call letters to WBBM-TV.) and July 1953. (WBBM-TV continued to operate on the Channel 4 frequency until July 1953; after that, it had the permanent frequency of Channel 2.)
The monkey butler was the first addition to the show; he arrived on Thanksgiving Day, 1953. The photo shows his arrival, tipping his hat to his new employer.
A Google News Archive search of the Chicago Tribune television listings for November 1953 lists the program being broadcast on Channel 2, WBBM-TV. This establishes who the owner of the photo was.
